Diet enriched with large number of proteins is finding its way to weight loss generation. But confusion exists because opinions are different between the research scientists. While some advocate for the cause of high protein diets there are an equal number of skeptics who advice against taking diets laced with proteins. Most of the protein foods also accompany numerous compounds like iron, zinc and even vitamins like B-6. Although the mentioned compounds are present in plenty in protein foods, it is also without many important substances like fiber, foliate and important minerals like Magnesium. Food stuffs which contain many fatty and cholesterol content must also be avoided at all costs. Many regulatory authorities exist in the United States such as Nutrition board which regularly keeps a tab on such ill harming food stuffs. It has been a well established fact that patient suffering from kidney disorders should not invest on high protein regimes at any cost. Due to malfunctioning of their kidneys many vital components like Calcium is excreted. Proteins which have been derived from animal fat is known to produce such symptoms in kidney patients. So if a person who is participating in a high protein diet program is aware of his calcium deficiency he should immediately quit from the program else it may threaten his very existence. Some may think that taking calcium supplements along with high protein diet may help in such cases but sadly they are grossly mistaken.
Calcium kidney stones are also produced in such patients due to high erosion of Calcium from the body. It is always advisable to seek the help of a medical professional in such matters before jumping strait to the program. Another disadvantage of such diets are cancer of the colon. Some of the researchers have established that colon cancer maybe triggered if meat is taken in excessive quantities. Canned meat also should be avoided at all costs. Harmful chemicals are being employed during the canning of the meat. Excessive cooking of these meet will produce amines which are heterocyclic in nature. These are seen especially in red meat. On the other hand protein intake as grains, vegetables, and poultry is beneficial to the body. It is also a good practice to clean the meat off all the fat contents before they are subjected to grilling. The build up of nitrogen occurs when meat of such nature is consumed in large quantities. And this nitrogen is dissolved in the blood. Kidneys convert this nitrogen to urea. So the more red meat is consumed the more nitrogen has to be converted to urea and this will lead to over exertion of the kidneys. The point is why tax the kidney at an earlier stage itself and set a stage for tragedy to act later in life? Amino acids in large quantities are also harmful for the body. Excess of proteins in affect means excess of amino acids. Mayhem ensues in the intestines especially the small intestine.
